With the days growing shorter and holidays around the corner, now is the time to spruce up your home for guests. Whether you plan to host a family gathering, a winter soiree, or a cozy romantic evening, the change of season offers the chance to fine tune or augment your decorating scheme. With that in mind, allow us to offer a list of some of the go-to designers and boutiques luxury real estate designers in NYC turn to in order to provide their clients with well-appointed comforts with a distinctive touch.

Those in search of the truly unique have long consulted Artware Editions. Though they no longer have a gallery open to the public, their office on the Lower East Side is open during the week for consultation, and artist-designed home products are available on their website. Artware Editions collections include unique wallpaper as well as furniture by Yves Klein and Christopher Kurtz. Decorative objects range from tiles by Sol LeWitt and holiday ornaments by William Wegman to dishware by Sophie Calle.

Interior designers have also been looking forward to Kate Spade’s just-launched new furniture and home décor line. For entryway seating, her Georgia bench offers a graceful perch that would work well with the confetti-flecked Calypso end table. Offer your guests cocktail party hors d’oeuvres or buffet service on these charmingly festive Cause a Stir tidbit plates; the matching cheese plate is a nice addition, while the gold happy hour coaster set adds a little glam while protecting your furniture. For more casual affairs like a post- shopping chat with a girlfriend, the cake and teacup accent plates atop the Afton coffee table would provide just the right touch, especially when complemented by elegant rose gold flatware.

Another New York favorite, Bunny Williams Home, has a new flagship showroom in the Fine Arts Building on 59th Street. As was the case in Williams’s beloved shop Treillage, unique pieces here are designed to be mixed into your own collections. Her spiral umbrella stand offers practical storage for guests’ umbrellas or walking sticks while making a unique statement in an entryway. To curl up on a warm intimate evening, this cozy settee, with or without an accompanying antique batik throw or vintage textile pillow, is a perfect spot. If you’d like to bring a little more light inside now that the nights are getting longer, her new lighting collection includes classic shapes such as this celadon crackle lamp as well as modern pieces like this Picasso floor lamp (available in gold or silver) or a fun Curly-Q table lamp.

For a more casual aesthetic, Brooklyn’s A&G Merch on 6th Street offers fun, trendy options. These witty hanger chairs are inexpensive and fold flat, making it convenient to store several in a hall closet so they can be pulled out as needed. These branch lights offer an easy option for temporary fall and winter decorating, and this gold-capped gnome bottle opener is cute and festive as well as practical. Meanwhile, tiny LED animal nightlights in your choice of squirrel, hedgehog, bunny, or bird provide a thoughtful touch in a guest bedroom.
